Peter Crawford Lawyers provides
upfront costs of how much you will be paying for your conveyance,
including details of how much searches will cost and how much
additional requested services will cost.

Costs Involved in a Sale or Purchase of a property Professional fees All professional fees are fixed as quoted and we provide obligation free quotes.* Professional charges Professional charges are disbursements and sundries incurred during the course of your transaction. These charges will be itemised for you during your initial correspondence with us. In the standard conveyance, these charges usually cost between $20 - $50 plus GST. Searches Searches are conducted to ensure your legal position is protected. Search costs are based on the specific requirements of your transaction and council area in which you are selling or buying. Compulsory Searches:
Searches for the Purchase of a property: can range between $250 - $350. (Depending upon the local council's costs in the area in which you are pruchasing).Searches for the Sale of a property: can range between $16.00 - $50.00. Additional / Voluntary Searches:
_______________________________________________________ Costs Involved if Purchasing a property without obtaining a loan from a finanical institution If you are purchasing a property and not obtaining finance (loan) from a banking or financial institution, you will be required to deposit/ transfer the required funds to settle your purchase, into our Trust Account. In this instance, we will be required to draw bank cheques on your behalf which incurr a $15.00 fee per bank cheque (maximum bank cheques to be drawn to which you are liable to pay are 2). This fee is the bank's fee for providing us with a bank cheque and no professional fee is charged for this. Lodgement Fees Usually if you obtain finance from a finanical institution, they attend to the lodgement of the Title. However, if you are not obtaining finance, we will be required to lodge the Title to your property. The fees applicable are those of the Department of Natural Resources and are dependant upon the value of your property. You will also be required to pay a lodging Agent's fee of $22 (incl. GST). During the process of transferring your property, we will communicate with you regularly. You can contact us at any time by email, telephone or fax. You shouldn't need to attend conferences at our office. You can send in any documents to us by post or drop them into our office if you wish. If you would like us to act on your behalf in the purchase or a sale of a property, please click on the 'Buying or Selling' button to the left. First we will provide you with our professional fees and if you wish to proceed further, you will be asked to provide details of your transaction. *In the event that your conveyance becomes unduly complex, we will provide you with the costs up front and keep you informed.
